About Richard Revels

Richard is a naturalist and photographer who started photographing wildlife in the mid 1960’s, concentrating mostly on butterflies at that time. He now photographs a wide range of nature subjects from birds, mammals, insects and plant life in each habitat he visits. He runs his own Photo Library supplying publishers with images of British Wildlife. In 1983 he joined the Royal Photographic Society and in the spring of that year he gained his Associateship with a panel of nature prints. The following spring he gained his Fellowship to the RPS with a submission of butterfly transparencies.

Over the years he has had thousands of his pictures published in books, magazines, calendars and other publications. Richard has taken many photographic awards with his pictures in national and international competitions and exhibitions, including the Royal Photographic Society's gold medal for best print in the exhibition. For many years he has staged Nature Photography Workshops at Bedford Museum, passing on his knowledge to all that attend.

Richard also runs Photo Workshops. The next one, "Close-up and Flash Photography", will be held on May 20th 2007. Please contact Richard for further details.
